Future Lab Academy was founded by Ruisi Li, an educator and data science professional based in Silicon Valley. She previously served as VP of Data Science at Top Sky Realty, a technology platform for real estate investment, and has two years of experience teaching college-level mathematics and statistics at Portland State University. Ruisi also holds a Certificate of Innovation in College Teaching. She has also completed coursework in Agentic AI at Stanford Continuing Studies, further strengthening her understanding of AI systems, learning architecture, and emerging educational technology.

Ruisi is particularly skilled at helping students understand complex mathematical concepts through clear explanations, structured reasoning, and intuitive models. Her teaching focuses on developing deep thinking skills—including logical reasoning, pattern recognition, and problem decomposition—that form the foundation for advanced mathematics, machine learning, and future learning in the age of AI.​
